Dr. Shoshana Peyser is a New York state licensed clinical social worker offering psychotherapy and geriatric care consulting services. Shoshana has over 25 years of health care experience as both a licensed clinical social worker and researcher in academic community hospitals and Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies.
Shoshana earned her PhD in Community/Public Health from New York University, joint master's degrees in Social Work and in Public Health from Columbia University and her BA in psychology from Barnard College. Shoshana served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and was an instructor at Columbia University School of Social Work. She has numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented at professional meetings.
Experience includes intensive training at New York State Psychiatric Institute and specialized instruction in guided meditation from Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Art of Living Foundation. Additionally Shoshana was trained in the use of Narrative Medicine in health care and education with faculty from Columbia University’s Narrative Medicine program.
Shoshana provides emotional and psychological support to individuals and caregivers challenged with complex medical and psychiatric issues. She has a unique ability to blend her rich professional experience and creativity with a warm, sensitive and approachable style.
Psychotherapy is currently only being offered virtually. Geriatric care consulting services are available virtually or on-site in the greater New York area.
